Course Description & Objectives:

The course will cover seed structure, seed germination; external and internal factors affecting germination and plant growth and development, importance of plant hormones in plant production.

Learning Outcomes:

At the end of the course the student should be able to;

Describe the process of seed formation
Describe structure and chemical composition of seeds and their economic importance
Explain the conditions suitable for germination.
Describe the causes and methods of overcoming seed dormancy
Demonstrate techniques of measuring growth.
