Course Description & Objectives: 

The course enables students to understand the tree diseases common in the tropics. Students understand disease diagnosis techniques An understanding of insect caused diseases, control strategies and the economic effects in nurseries, forests and on-farm settings is provided

  • Students ably identify and diagnose infested tree species and diseases in tropical nurseries, forests and on-farm settings
  • Students make decisions on appropriate management and control methods for various diseases in forestry.
  • Students develop and implement pathological research and monitoring systems
