Course Description & Objectives: 

This course will cover definition of molecular systematics, classical and molecular systematics, the underlying principles of PCR, types of molecular markers, various phylogenetic approaches, analysis of data and evolutionary inferences using phylogenetic analysis.

Learning Outcomes: 

At the end of this course, a student should be able to:1.  define and explain molecular systematics,2.  compare and contrast classical and molecular systematics,3. describe the underlying principles of PCR,4. compare and contrast the different types of molecular markers,5. explain the differences between various phylogenetic approaches,
