Course Description & Objectives: 

The course focuses on the abnormal functioning of diseased organs. The course will include descriptions of causes, signs and symptoms, diagnostic tests, and treatments dealing with patient care. The unit also covers signs of pathology on diagnostic images.

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the 5 weeks, the student should be able:1.   Define the disease categories covered in the course content2.   List the causes of diseases3.   Describe the clinical manifestations of the common conditions within this diseases classification.4.   Identify the common diagnostic tests used to identify the common diseases5.   Describe the radiographic appearances of the common diseases.6.     Demonstrate the ability to describe a chest x-ray in a patient with pneumonia.7.   Appreciate the role of imaging in the management of common diseases.8.   Show ability to interpret pathological changes at different imaging modalities
