Course Description & Objectives:
This course will teach mental problems encountered in women as a specific vulnerable group, their bio psychosocial medical differences with men and the psychiatric problems related to childbearing and lastly, the pharmacobiology of women in drug treatment. Course Content:
- Women and mental illness: Epidemiological Facts and Factors
- The psychological problems of the girl child including sexual exploitation, menstrual syndromes, teenage pregnancy, rape, abortion.

- Antenatal screening of at risk mothers for development of psychiatric illness. Post partum psychiatric disorders. Hysterectomy and Mastectomy.

- The differential psychopharmacology of women Vs men in drug metabolism, clinical response and side effect profiles. Prevention of mental problems
