Epidemiology, Basics of oncogenesis. Genetics structure, epigenetic theories. Basics of immunology. Modalities of cancer care, survival, palliation, vaccines                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Objectives:

  • To discuss Diagnosis of Tumours
  • To discuss Treatment of Tumours
  • To discuss Prognosis of Tumours
  • To discuss Natural History of Tumours
  • To discuss Tissue Transplantation and Organ Preservation
  • To discuss the various Research and study Modalities of the Immune System and Oncology and the Scientific Basis of their Interpretation and Application.
  • To discuss Blood Transfusion

 

Learning Outcomes: 

By the end of the course the student is expected to:

  • Discuss the fundamentals of oncogenesis. Rationale for choice of modalities of treatment, limitations, prognostication.
