Course Description & Objectives: 

Introduces students to evaluation research, establishing its relationship with conventional research as well as with extension evaluation. Overview of the history, purpose and use of (program) evaluation with specific reference to its relevance to the performance of agricultural extension. Focuses on forms/types of evaluation and approaches and methods used in evaluation within the context of extension, paying particular attention to participatory and process-oriented (hence qualitative) forms/types and approaches/methods of program evaluation in keeping with current trends in development evaluation.
