The course will expose students to advances in molecular plant pathology. Aspects to be covered include: Review of parasitism, physiology and genetics of host pathogen interactions, signal perception and transduction in plant defence responses; hypersensitive reactions; role of kinase like complexes, salicylic acid, ethylene, jasmonic acid and nitric oxide mediated systems
