The course is intended to demonstrate the importance of soil as a basic resource that supports many other resources supportive of life on Planet Earth. Soil is presented as a living medium in which biotic and abiotic interactions take place by analyzing its characteristics. Soil degradation and how to combat it is especially emphasized for sustainable agriculture. The course gives students knowledge and practical skills in soil science.
