Many countries have already been impacted by climate change and this has affected their development goals through adverse impacts on sectors such as agriculture, water and human health. A concerted effort in addressing development under a changing climate is needed. The course will cover the links between the atmosphere, land, oceans, and the role of green house gases in the functioning of the Earth’s systems. Understating how climate change will affect these systems and sectors will help in identifying potential adaptation options.  Furthermore, information obtained will enable students to raise awareness and influence policies that could contribute to mitigating climate change and related impacts.
