Course Description & Objectives:

This course focuses at equipping students with competencies for planning, organizing and conduction effective extension and or training programs in agriculture and rural development. It deals with: classification of extension methods and their use; understanding and targeting of clients; choosing appropriate methods; planning extension activities and choosing of appropriate methods and, practical skills development in visual aids production. Objective:

To equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively plan, organize and conduct extension and training programs/ activities in agriculture and rural development.

Learning Outcomes:

Demonstrate understanding of the usefulness of extension methods in extension services delivery processes
Gain knowledge and skills to plan, organise and effectively execute extension programs using different methods appropriate to identified training needs and situations of their clientele.
Select / design appropriate visual aids like posters, leaflets, drawings, photos and flashcards for use in specific extension sessions
